Back From Honeymoon

Well, we got out just in time.  Hurricane Dean was quickly approaching on Sunday and amidst all the chaos we got out on our regular scheduled flight and for us everything was okay. I wish I could say the same for a) the residents of Cancun and the surronding areas who although were not hit as hard as expected, still had to deal with a lot of crap and b) the travellers who were woken up and told taht their holiday was being cut short and that the bus was leaving to take them to the airport in 30 minutes. Yikes!

I managed to stay away from my teleophone and computer for the whole two weeks for the most part. Other than some little bits of business to take care of I stayed away!  It made a huge difference to my holiday which was very cool.  We stayed in Playa Del Carmen, about 30 minutes outside of Cancun and it was the first time I have ever stayed in an all inclusive resort. It was very cool although 2 weeks is a long time.  The food, although quite good started to get a little redundant towards the end.  For someone who doesn’t really dig the beach, I did pretty good.  The weather was hot hot hot and humid like you wouldn’t beleive but its a lot easier to deal with it when you’re a stone’s throw away from the pool and the ocean.  We did lots of day trips like swimming with the dolphins which as amazing, we visited COBA which included tour through a Mayan village which was amazing, we went to Xel Ha which was basically a snorkelling trip that was breathtaking and then we did the bar crawl, visiting three bars in the city!

All in all it was a great way to spend 14 days on a honeymoon !
