Don’t fall off your chair when you see that I’m blogging about a singers’ album!  I came across this little gem on a very cool site where you can download all kinds of albums. The reason I came across is it is because I was doing a search for Tommy Flanagan. I have been really listening to a lot of him lately.  It was a bonus that alto saxophonist Charles McPherson appears on this record to.  It’s a meat and potatoes kinda record. No frills no gimmicks just straight ahead jazz.  The sound quality is a bit weird and it’s probably more to do with the fact that it’s a rip rather than the actual sound being bad. Check it out her take on the old standard They Can’t Take That Away from Me.  It’s not a mind blowing, life changing album by any means but it was a nice treat to check out someone that I had never heard of before and have an enjoyable experience.
