I may have posted this a few years ago but pictures and memories of the late great Chris Nelson can never be posted or talked about enough.  This was one of the few gigs I had the great pleasure of doing with Chris Nelson.  The other was a quartet date at The Cellar with Kevin Elashcuk on trumpet and Paul Townsend on drums.

Chris was hands down one of the nicest and most generous musicians that lived on this planet. He was so gracious and humble and was such a wonderful soul.  He battled hard right to the end of his life.  I remember we did a benefit for him at the club and no one really new if he would be strong enough to make it but make it he did. He came down and about half way through the night he asked if he could borrow my office to have a little sleep because he was feeling tired.  He did just that and came out about an hour later and enjoyed the rest of the party.  I wasn’t as tight with him as many musicians are in this city but I loved him nonetheless.
