Another great day in the city! We had nothing planned in the afternoon other than an optional event at a tiny little place called THE BAR NEXT DOOR. The trio was FRANCISCO MELO drums, PETER SLAVOV bass and a young Chilean saxophonist named MELISSA ALDANA. The trio was really fantastic. I was a bit worried about how the group would like it. It was more challenging to the ears than our other stuff but they absolutely loved it. The band sounded phenomenal. Not my cup of tea but very very good nonetheless.
After that it was up to The Kitano Hotel for a 3 course dinner and two piano trios. The first led by young pianist STEVE EINERSON and then a trio led by JEREMY MANASIA. Both super burning but both super different. It was a really wonderful day and night of music.
